- Paternity Leave applies to all employees
- Maternity Support Leave applies to all employees except teachers
Paternity Leave is a statutory benefit available to all qualifying NYCC employees. Maternity Support Leave (MSL) is an occupational benefit and applies to all employees except teachers under Schoolteachers Conditions of Service (Burgundy Book).
Paternity leave can be taken for the birth of a child or the adoption of a child and maternity support leave can be taken for the birth of a child.
Depending on your circumstances you may qualify for either Paternity Leave or Maternity Support leave or a combination of the two.
