NYES Resourcing Solutions are a professional education recruitment service run by public sector education experts.

As part of the wider Resourcing Solutions team, we are not what you might think. Although we are run by North Yorkshire County Council, we are a commercial business and we deliver our specialist recruitment expertise to a wide range of public sector partners across the UK. Our motto is simple: we source the best possible talent for schools, whilst helping teachers and support staff find great career development opportunities and therefore shape both staff and student futures alike.

Careers Education Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG)

As the largest employer in North Yorkshire with a diverse range of jobs at all levels, North Yorkshire County Council's Resourcing Solutions Team is acutely aware of the local labour market and how it influences recruitment to roles in NYCC and our partners.

Our team of expert advisers include qualified Occupational Assessors including those qualified to deliver Morrisby Profile - the internationally recognised, objective and interactive online career guidance tool which can navigate students through the difficult process of choosing subject options, careers and the various educational pathways available based on their own preferences.
We can support your school to deliver comprehensive, impartial and high quality CEIAG with your students in line with the Gatsby benchmarks. This can include student group sessions to raise awareness of the local labour market (LMI) and career pathways available in North Yorkshire, support with job applications and CV’s and mock interviews.

We can also deliver sessions for teachers to raise awareness of local careers and how they can integrate this into the curriculum for their subject area.

Our Team

Sarah France-Gorton - Head of Resourcing Solutions

MHRM, MCIPD, MREC, MSc (Hons), BPS A&B Assessor, Moresby Profiling

Sarah is responsible for all aspects of resourcing and leading the Resourcing Solutions service. Sarah has significant experience of delivering resourcing solutions and talent acquisition across sectors having worked in the recruitment industry and operational management. Whilst Sarah heads up all initiatives delivered by the service her specialisms include: executive and specialist talent sourcing and campaign management, resourcing strategy and staffing solutions, attraction, agency workers and interims, DBS / safeguarding and recruitment operations.

 

Helen Poole – NYES Resourcing Solutions Team Manager

BA (Hons), MA, PGCE

Having joined North Yorkshire County Council in 2021, Helen leads the commercial activity within Human Resources, including HR Advisory, Employment Support, and Resourcing Solutions. Helen has worked in Human Resources as an education recruiter and manager for nearly 8 years and prior to this, she was a music teacher. She has experience recruiting across all phases of education and roles, from support staff to SLT. Additionally, she has been a SEND specialist recruiter and Team Teach trainer, so has extensive experience recruiting for complex roles within specialist settings. Helen works in a consultative capacity to provide advice and guidance, striving to deliver a personalised recruitment experience for every school. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the flute and piano, walking, reading, regaling others with tales of her mad cats and being an auntie to her two nieces.

 

Julie Crichton – Resourcing Partner

Julie has worked for NYES Human Resources for over two years and has nearly 20 years of recruitment experience, and a particular expertise with managing high-profile recruitment campaigns. Julie specialises in Senior Leadership recruitment, having a wealth of knowledge in running successful campaigns, providing stakeholder support and has successfully placed a number of senior leaders across North Yorkshire. She also provides invaluable advice to current and aspiring senior leaders to ensure the best possible outcomes. In her spare time, she enjoys time with her family and friends, interior design, beach walks, reading and fine food.

 

Sarah Hunter – Resourcing Partner

BA Oxon

Sarah joined the team in August 2022 as Education Resourcing Partner. Sarah will be supporting with recruitment for both teaching and senior leadership, bringing a wealth of expertise. Sarah has over 15 years’ experience in recruitment including 7 years’ experience as a Recruitment Officer at an independent school in Oxford, where her responsibility was the full cycle of recruitment of all teaching and support roles. Sarah has invaluable, first-hand experience of the specialist needs of recruiting in schools and is safer recruitment trained. New to North Yorkshire, having relocated in November 2021, in her spare time, Sarah enjoys getting to know the local area, amateur dramatics and binge watching Netflix true crime documentaries.

 

Chloe Bullen – Resourcing Officer

BA (Hons)

Chloe is a recent addition to the Resourcing Solutions Education Team, having joined North Yorkshire County Council in June 2022. Chloe comes from a marketing background, working for four years for a local magazine. Her role focused on print marketing, copywriting, graphic design, sales, social media, and networking. Chloe uses her marketing experience to write compelling adverts and her networking and people skills to communicate with clients and candidates. Prior to her marketing ventures, Chloe graduated from The University of York in 2018, achieving a BA in History of Art. Chloe enjoys; Formula 1, history documentaries, art, animals, and country walks.

 

Keeley Metcalfe – Talent Acquisition Manager/Careers Lead, Resourcing Solutions

BA (Hons), CIPD (Level 3), PTTLS, Careers IAG Level 6, BPS A&B Assessor

With over 9 years working in the resourcing solutions team, Keeley has a wealth of experience across all aspects of the Resourcing agenda. Currently leading strategic management of the young person’s talent,  engaging volunteers, supporting staff programmes and career advisory initiatives. Keeley is a qualified, registered careers adviser and provides impartial careers advice to school students, in addition to planning programmes to raise awareness of jobs and careers in Local Government. Highly organised, with a desire to engage and consult with clients and candidates, Keeley will lead a recruitment campaign in an extremely engaging and effective manner for all concerned.   

 

Mia Daw – Resourcing Solutions Marketing Lead

BSc (Hons), SEO and Google Certified professional

Mia joined North Yorkshire County Council as Digital Marketing and Talent Resourcing Adviser in late 2021. She has over eight years of Digital Marketing experience with companies such as Sony and Hilton. Mia leads marketing communication, developing marketing campaigns, overseeing marketing strategy, social media, digital channels, and reporting on campaign success. Additionally, she focuses on driving attraction and performance to deliver compelling campaigns for hard to fill roles. Mia enjoys theatre, music, and hiking in Yorkshire Moors, especially the longest green lane in the UK.

 

Claire Viera - Marketing Officer

BA Hons

Claire joined the Resourcing Solutions Team in March 2022 and is responsible for maintaining the websites and social media channels that promote education recruitment. Claire comes from an educational background, working as a tutor throughout her university career. Following graduation, she became a Houseparent in boarding schools in West Sussex and North Yorkshire. In 2021, Claire began studying towards a Master’s Degree in Global Media and Digital Culture, which inspired her to pursue a career in media, communications, and digital. Claire’s hobbies include going trail running, caring for her extensive houseplant collection, and spending time with her dog Hobsy.
