One of the most valuable benefits available to staff is the pension scheme offered by the Council. Two other key areas are the provision of travel and subsistence allowances and merit and incentive payment and long service awards. In addition to the benefits mentioned above, there is also the provision of an occupational health department which provides services to promote and maintain the physical, mental and social wellbeing of all staff. Employees are supported by the benefits of a generous sickness scheme if they fall ill.
