There are strict deadlines for the receipt of travel claims by the Travel Section in Central Finance in order to meet the payroll processing cut-off point. These deadlines vary month by month according to when pay day falls. Please note the current schedule of deadlines. Any claims received after the deadline will not be paid until the following month, ie. two months after the month to which the claim relates."
The reimbursement of meals will not normally be paid unless there is a genuine and unavoidable additional operational expense incurred and prior management approval has been given and receipts produced up to the published national limits, the information is contained in the subsistence allowance document should be applicable.
Car Purchase Scheme
The Car Purchase scheme enables staff of North Yorkshire County Council to either purchase or lease new or used cars from local garages under a new pilot scheme.
The scheme will enable employees, upon provision of their latest NYCC payslip (not older than two months) to access discounts upon new, used and leased cars purchased through the garage and discounts on servicing and spare parts for any car. Please refer to the document for further information.
Green Travel Loan
In support of North Yorkshire County Council's Local Agenda 21 Strategy 'Towards a Sustainable Future', the Council has developed an Environmental Management Scheme (EMS). Part of the remit of the EMS is to encourage the use of alternative methods of transport to the car.
The Green travel loan scheme is available to all employees of the County Council unless they are specifically excluded, for example those employed directly by schools under the Local Management of Schools arrangements. Schools under the Local Management of Schools arrangements may adopt the Scheme if they so wish.
This Scheme allows eligible employees to apply for an interest and tax free loan to purchase an annual season ticket for public transport (between home and the place of work). Both an application form and application notes are provided.
