Minority Ethnic Achievement (MEA)

This is a support and advice service for minority ethnic children and young people (0-19) and their families in North Yorkshire.

There are five MEA Teams based in Hub Schools across the county.

If you work in a Children's Centre, school, or are a NYCC colleague, family member or individual needing advice and/or support with regard to minority ethnic children and young people (including new international arrivals, more advanced bilingual learners or Gypsy, Roma and Traveller pupils) please get in touch with your nearest MEA Team.

For an informal chat, contact the MEA Specialist Teacher by e-mail or phone (details above), for a more formal request, please complete one of the MEA Referral Forms attached (Individual Pupil or Staff CPD Request) and return by e-mail to the appropriate MEA Hub School.

The MEA Support Service offers a wide range of training for schools.
