0-5 Healthy Child Service
The 0-5 Healthy Child Service is the early intervention and prevention public health programme that lies at the heart of universal services for children and families. At a crucial stage of life, the Healthy Child Service’s universal reach provides an invaluable opportunity to identify families that are in need of additional support and children who are at risk of poor outcomes.
The 0-5 Healthy Child Service offers every family a programme of screening tests, immunisations, developmental reviews, and information and guidance to support parenting and healthy choices – all services that children and families need to receive if they are to achieve their optimum health and wellbeing.
The 0-5 Healthy Child Service is the first point of contact for Early Years Providers where there are concerns about a child’s health and wellbeing. Anyone who is expecting a child or has a child up to the age of 5 years can be referred to the service for support and information. Professionals can refer families to the service by completing the “Referral to Children and Family Service” form or by calling the Customer Resolution Centre single point of contact on 01609 780780. Parents and carers can contact their local 0-5 Healthy Child Service (Health Visiting Team) directly for information and support or via the Customer Resolution Centre single point of contact on 01609 780780.
More information about the service can be accessed at the Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust 0-5 Children’s Service page.
